About this event
Think you know Greek wine? Assyrtiko has had its moment - now it's time to meet the rest of the family. Join us at Franklin's Wine on Tuesday 28th October at 7pm for an evening dedicated to two of Greece's most exciting, lesser-known wine islands: Paros and Crete. We'll be tasting 5 wines that go beyond the familiar, showcasing indigenous grapes and styles that rarely make it onto London wine lists. Paros brings elegant, mineral-driven whites and reds shaped by sea breezes and volcanic soil, while Crete — one of the oldest wine-producing regions in the world — offers bold, characterful wines rooted in thousands of years of winemaking history. Your hosts for the evening: Effi Tsournava, alongside our in-house sommelier Luigi Gaudino, will guide you through each glass - sharing the stories, grapes, and places behind the wines, in a relaxed and friendly setting. Whether you're a curious newcomer or a seasoned wine lover looking for something different, this is a chance to discover that Greek wine has far more to offer than one famous grape.
