About this event
A region. A blend. A global area. Bordeaux is more than a place. It is one of the world’s most influential winemaking blueprints. For over centuries, its philosophy of blending grape varieties, balancing structure with elegance, and expressing sense of place and history has travelled beyond France. Some regions embraced the model almost unchanged, while others transformed it into something entirely their own. During the evening we will taste seven wines that follow this journey: Left Bank Bordeaux, Right Bank Bordeaux, Bolgheri, Italy, Ch. Musar, Lebanon, Napa Valley, California, Maipo, Chile, Stellenbosch, SA. Rather than asking which wine is the best, we’ll explore a more interesting, open question: When does a Bordeaux stop being a copy and become an identity of its own? An evening of stories, history and tasting, following one of the wine’s most influential ideas as it travelled around the world.
