Fine Wine Friday – Champagne Duménil, Champagne

Join us at Davy’s Wine Shop, Greenwich for our monthly Fine Wine tasting. On the last Friday (Thursday in December) of each month throughout 2026, we open some of our favourite and finest bottles to taste. For our final opening this December, we are delighted to be pouring from our friends at Champagne Duménil. Founded in 1874 by Élie Duménil, this grower house has remained in the same family for five generations. It was Cécile Duménil whose vision shaped the house style. Frédérique Poret-Duménil, fifth generation, oversees the Domaine and creates the blends drawing on a deep knowledge of each individual plot. The estate’s 8ha span 45 parcelles across four Premier Cru villages on the Montagne de Reims: Chigny-les-Roses, Rilly-la-Montagne, Ludes and Sacy. Production remains deliberately limited. We will be tasting the Champagne Duménil Brut Reserve 27: a unique non-vintage Champagne, consisting of 50% of a single vintage, with the remaining 50% of the blend coming from their ‘Reserve Perpetuelle’ a solera of wine consisting of all vintages between 1996 and 2020. An equal blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier from three Premier Crus. First fermentation occurred in stainless steel tanks, with malolactic fermentation completed.
