About this event
Why is Champagne and Fish & Chips such a good combination? Come and and find out! At this tasting, we'll compare Champagne, Cava and Prosecco - the process used to make them sparkle is key to the flavours. We'll also sample Cremant, New World Sparkling Wine and English Sparkling Wine asking 'Are these as good?' Pairing with Fish 'n' Chips is a classic combination that simply must be experienced if you haven't already! And to pack in extra value, we'll also demonstrate how to open Champagne with a sword (called 'Sabrage')! You'll learn... - How various sparkling wines are made - What accounts for the different styles and tastes - Why Champagne can be so expensive - The quality difference behind a vintage Champagne - Why fish and chips pairs so well with sparkling wine! Halfway through the evening, staff will bring in a delicious meal of either: - Beer-battered haddock served with chunky chips, peas & tartare sauce - Vegan/vegetarian alternative (and gluten-free option available by request). Just email us your dietary requirements after you book, and we will accommodate you!
