About this event

The French Wine Scholar (FWS) course is a comprehensive classroom-based programme designed to test proficiency in all the wines and wine regions of France. Ideal for those who have completed or are studying WSET Level 3 or 4, or for enthusiastic wine lovers interested in French wine. The course consists of eight 2.5-hour classes held on consecutive Tuesday evenings, covering all major French wine regions including Alsace, Champagne, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Jura, Savoie, Loire, Bordeaux, Languedoc-Roussillon, Rhône, Southwest, Provence, and Corsica. Each class includes tasting of 6+ wines, often paired with regional foods. Students receive the official FWS study manual and access to Wine Scholar Guild’s online e-learning modules (valid for 1 year). The course concludes with a 1-hour multiple-choice exam (100 questions, 60 minutes, 75% to pass). Successful candidates receive a digital certificate and may purchase a qualification pin. West London Wine School, winner of the French Wine Scholar Programme Provider of the Year in 2017 and 2023, hosts this course at The Wine Cellars, Fulham.
