About this event
Described by Decanter magazine as 'the most respected wine critic and journalist in the world', Jancis Robinson is also arguably the world's most prolific. Aside from overseeing her eponymous website and serving as the long-time wine correspondent of the Financial Times, she has been a pioneering broadcaster on wine and the author and editor of countless books, including The Oxford Companion to Wine and Wine Grapes. The first person outside the wine trade to qualify as a Master of Wine, she has received an OBE, France's Officier du Mérite Agricole, six James Beard awards, and multiple lifetime achievement honours. We welcome Jancis to discuss the newly released ninth edition of the World Atlas of Wine, the first since 2019, in conversation with Guy Woodward, editor of our Back Label newsletter. Jancis has chosen ten wines to illustrate key recent trends in winemaking: extreme latitude viticulture, emerging regions, cooler-climate styles, volcanic terroir, and the rise of English wine. Attendees will taste wines from Belgium, Patagonia, Australia, England, Azores, Auvergne, New Zealand, Spain, California, and Lisboa.
