About this event
A Wee Varietal: Merlot One grape, many expressions, remarkable range
For this Wee Focus, we're turning the spotlight on Merlot—one of the world's most planted and misunderstood grapes. Often overshadowed by its bolder Cabernet cousin, Merlot is capable of extraordinary elegance, richness, and depth, delivering some of the most compelling wines in the world when given the attention it deserves.
We'll be pouring four Merlot wines that showcase the grape's remarkable range, from the plush, velvety expressions of Right Bank Bordeaux to bolder, sun-ripened styles from warmer New World regions, all shaped by different soils, climates, and winemaking philosophies that prove there's far more to Merlot than "soft and easy."
As always, this will be a relaxed, approachable tasting with cheeseboards and plenty of conversation. Perfect for anyone curious about what makes Merlot so compelling—or just looking for a delicious way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
