About this event

The WSET Level 1 Award in Wines is a one-day course providing an ideal introduction to wine for beginners and those starting out in the wine trade. The course covers key wines and grape varieties, how to taste and serve wine, storage, food and wine matching, and major wine styles from around the world. It includes tasting 8 wines, 7 hours of tuition (9:30am–5:00pm), and a 30-question multiple-choice exam at the end of the day. The in-person version is held at Novotel London West, while the online option is delivered via live Zoom sessions with wine samples and tasting glasses shipped in advance. The WSET Level 1 textbook is provided (on the day for classroom, before the course for online). Both formats lead to a nationally and internationally recognised qualification. This structured course is perfect for those with little prior knowledge or professionals in restaurants or retail seeking foundational wine education.
