For businesses

Connecting Eventbrite, Ticket Tailor, and other tools

Already publishing events on another platform? Connect your account once and Sommly stays in sync automatically. Seven integrations supported.

If your events already live on Eventbrite, Ticket Tailor, Bookwhen, Humanitix, TryBooking, Google Calendar, or any iCal feed, you do not need to type them into Sommly a second time. Open Connections in the sidebar, link the platform once, and every future event you publish there appears on Sommly automatically.

Connections are free. They sync only your event details, never your attendees or orders. You stay in control: disconnect at any time and your existing listings stay live.

What you can connect today

Seven integrations live on Sommly right now, in three flavours of setup:

  • One-click OAuth. Click Connect, approve on the partner's site, you are back. Used by Eventbrite and Google Calendar.
  • Paste an API key. Generate a key in the partner's dashboard, paste it into Sommly, we validate and show you a preview. Used by Ticket Tailor, Bookwhen, and Humanitix.
  • Paste a feed URL. Public calendar feeds work without any credentials at all. Used by the generic iCal feed connector and TryBooking.

Whichever flavour, the merchant flow is the same: connect, preview the events we found, confirm. Three clicks at most.

The connect flow, step by step

  • From the sidebar open Connections.
  • Find the platform card, click Connect.
  • Either approve on the partner's OAuth screen, or paste the API key / feed URL we ask for. Each option has its own How it works link in the modal with screenshots.
  • We fetch a sample and show you the events we found. If they look right, click Confirm.
  • Done. Future events on that platform appear on Sommly automatically.

Tip

We always show you a preview before anything goes live. Nothing publishes until you click Confirm.

What we read, what we never touch

  • We read: event title, description, dates, venue, ticket prices, cover image URL, and the public link back to your event page on the partner platform.
  • We never read: orders, attendees, payment information, refund history, financial reports, or any personal data of your customers.

Tokens are encrypted at rest. Webhook payloads are signed where the partner supports it. Past events are deleted from Sommly 90 days after they finish.

Live updates: webhooks vs polling

Two integrations push live updates to Sommly within seconds via webhooks: Ticket Tailor (event create / update / delete) and Eventbrite (event published / updated / unpublished). Publish a new event on those platforms and it usually shows on Sommly before you have refreshed the tab.

The others use polling. Sommly checks for new events every hour or so. The exact cadence per integration:

  • Hourly: Bookwhen, Humanitix, Google Calendar (with incremental syncToken so it is cheap).
  • Every four hours: iCal feeds.
  • Daily: TryBooking.

You can also click Sync now on any connection card to force an immediate refresh.

Existing events on Sommly

Sommly's scraper has been finding wine events on these platforms for a while, so when you connect, you may already have events on Sommly that you didn't put there. This is fine. The first thing the connect flow does is claim any existing scraped events for your platform account, attach them to your business, and stop the scraper from re-finding them. You take ownership of your historical listings without any duplicates.

Tip

If you spot an event on Sommly attached to the wrong business, email [email protected] with the event URL and we will reassign it.

Disconnecting

Open Connections, click Disconnect on any active card. This:

  • Wipes the credentials we stored.
  • Unsubscribes Sommly from the partner's webhooks.
  • Stops future events from syncing.
  • Leaves your existing Sommly listings live, so anything you have already advertised stays visible.

Want everything removed instead? Email [email protected] and we will delete the events too.

If a connection breaks

OAuth tokens occasionally expire (usually because someone revoked the connection on the partner's side). When that happens, the connection card on Sommly turns amber and shows Reconnect needed. You will also receive an email with a one-click reconnect link. The fix is the same as the original connect: click Reconnect, re-approve, done.

What's next

WordPress + WooCommerce and Shopify plugins are on the roadmap, both designed for merchants whose tickets live as native products on their own site. If your platform is not yet supported and you would like it to be, drop us a line.
