Listing your wine school

Sommly Learn keeps a public Register of Wine Schools. It is the directory we point readers at when they ask where to study wine in the UK. If you run a school, you can apply to be listed.

Tip

The register is currently ordered by application date, earliest first. Schools that apply now get a head start over everyone who joins later.

Who can apply

Any Sommly business account with its category set to Wine School. That covers WSET APPs, independent educators running courses, sommelier training providers, and anyone else teaching wine to paying students.

You do not need a verified tick to appear, and you do not need to sell tickets through Sommly. The register is a free listing.

How to apply

Sign up for a business account at /register. Pick Event Organiser, even if you do not plan to list events yet.

In your dashboard, open Business Settings and set your Category to Wine School. A new Directory tab appears.
Fill in your Profile tab: a description of what you teach, a logo, and a cover image. All three are required before your listing goes live.

Open the Directory tab and click Apply to the register. That timestamps your application.

Once your profile is complete and you have applied, your school appears on /learn/schools straight away.

Position on the page

Listings are currently ordered by the moment you applied. The first school on page one is the school that applied first. This is deliberate: early applicants take on a small amount of risk by being the first to trust a young platform, and we want to reward that.

If you apply today and another school applies tomorrow, they go below you, and they stay below you. Your position does not shift as the register grows.

The verified tick

Once you are listed, Sommly will reach out to confirm a few things about your school. After that check, a verified tick appears next to your name on the register. The tick does not change your position on the page.

You can also add certifications in the Directory tab (WSET APP, Court of Master Sommeliers, and so on). These show as badges on your listing. Each claim is reviewed before its tick is applied.

Withdrawing

You can leave the register at any time from the Directory tab. Hit Withdraw from the register and your listing is hidden from /learn/schools immediately. If you rejoin later, your application date resets to the day you re-applied, and you lose your original place in the order.
